FRIDAY: Enjoy a hula performance from the Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts dance company, Pupukahi I Ke Alo O Na Pua, shown. The troupe will appear at 7 p.m. at the Artists’ Theatre, 625 Park Ave. A $5 donation is requested.

SATURDAY: Join volunteers and help Laguna Canyon Foundation and OC Parks staff with restoration projects during Keep It Wild Volunteer Day, 8 to 11 a.m. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area/Nix Nature Center (west side of Laguna Canyon Road/SR-133, approximately 3.5 miles south of I-5/405). SUNDAY: Challenge yourself on a difficult, strenuous and fast-paced, 6-mile hike (700-ft. elevation gain) over very steep, uneven terrain with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. For ages 15 and up. Not for beginners. Meet at Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Ridge Park Staging Area (Newport Coast Drive to Ridge Park Rd east to end; meet at the gate.) Reservations required, call (949) 923-2235. Hummingbird Talk

Learn how to attract hummingbirds to your garden at a presentation, “Jewels of Nature: Hummingbirds in Your Garden,” from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. In addition, learn what to do if you find a lost hummingbird. Pupukahi I Ke Alo O Na Pua (“United as One in the Presence of the Flowers”), a troupe from Honolulu’s Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts, will give a free song and hula dance performance from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. All are welcome.

Great Discussions

Join a Great Decisions Discussion Group, sponsored by the Foreign Policy Assn., beginning at 1:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 429 Cypress Drive, Laguna Beach. The discussions provide in-depth knowledge of Foreign Policy issues and are offered by the League of Women Voters and the Social Action Committee of the UU Fellowship. Transition Dance

Transition Laguna holds an open dance party with a mix of world music every Monday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach, 286 St. Ann’s Drive. $10 donation. No partner necessary. A portion of the proceeds goes to Transition Laguna.

Seniors Ping Pong

Seniors are welcome to participate in table-top tennis, or ping pong, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the multipurpose room at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. Bring your own paddle or use one of theirs. HelpBlueWater.com volunteers meet at noon on Sunday at Mozambique’s lower parking lot for a weekly beautification effort. Free parking available.
