CRYSTAL COVE STATE PARK
Crystal Cove State Park, 8471 N. Coast Hwy, has 3.5 miles of beach and 2,000 acres of undeveloped woodland. $15 day-use parking fee.
The park is open 6 a.m. to sunset daily. Due to the recent rainstorms, the backcountry is closed until further notice. The beaches and tidepools are open to the public. For more information, call (949) 497-7647 or e-mail [email protected].
Historic District Walk: 10 a.m. Saturday. Take a walk through the renovated 12-acre Historic District and learn about the colorful past of the Cove and hear about the different uses for each cottage. Meet at Los Trancos parking lot at the trailer (from Coast Highway, turn inland at stoplight “Los Trancos”.) $15 day-use parking fee
Open House: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday: Crystal Cove State Park and Crystal Cove Alliance are hosting an Open House in the Park & Marine Research Facility in the Historic District. Guests will learn about science and the research that is being conducted in the park and participate in fun and simple activities. At noon a park volunteer will lead a tidepool walk at the Rocky Bight tidepools. Park in the Los Trancos lot (from Coast Highway, turn inland at stoplight “Los Trancos,” then walk across the street or take the shuttle) and meet at Cottage No. 22. $15 day-use parking fee

Native Plant Hike: 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Learn to identify native plants and early wildflowers with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteer naturalist Nadine Nordstrom (author of the South Coast Wilderness Plant Identification Guide) on this moderate, but steep and rocky, 3.5-mile hike. . Geology Hike: 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday. Enjoy unspoiled canyon views and learn about the geology of this area on this strenuous, 2-mile (400 ft. elevation gain) over steep and uneven terrain led by Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteer naturalists. Yoga for Adults: 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Enjoy a peaceful, 1.5-mile walk as you learn yoga stretches and breathing and relaxation exercises with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers.
