‘Legacy’ donations sought
Laguna Beach Seniors are seeking donations of quality, gently used collectibles valued at $200 or more for their 5th Annual Legacy Ball silent auction.
Accepted items will be appraised for inclusion in “The Legacy Collection” to be sold during a silent auction at the Laguna Beach Seniors 2011 Legacy Ball on March 25 at The Resort at Pelican Hill. All donations must be received by Feb. 28 and donors will be given information to use to obtain a tax deduction.

Newsmaker’s Forum is Wednesday
A current event group meets from noon to 2 p.m. in the Tech Room at the Susi Q Senior Center to watch newsmaker interviews and participate in a facilitator-led discussion. This activity is free.
AARP Driver Safety Course
An AARP Driver Safety Refresher Course is planned from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. January 27 and 28 at the Susi Q Senior Center. The course will teach driving strategies and defensive driving techniques. Participants may also be eligible for a discount on their auto insurance. The cost for AARP members is $12 and for nonmembers, $14. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.
Surf’s Way Up: Our Surf Musical Heritage
The Susi Q and Laguna Beach Historical Society will present veteran surf band locals Bob Colwell, Tracy Longstreth and Matt Quilter playing and discussing surf music from 2 to 4 p.m. January 29. Cost is $5 in advance; $10 at the door. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.
Dr. Phil Show taping
The “Dr. Phil Show” is again sponsoring a free bus to two tapings of his show at the Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood. The bus will leave from the Albertson’s shopping center at 6 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m. Feb. 8. To reserve a seat, call (949) (949) 497-2441.
