Police: Man beaten with a baseball bat in an unprovoked attack at a Burbank car wash

A 29-year-old Burbank man was beaten with a baseball bat in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack at a car wash, police said.

Around 5:15 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a self-service, coin-operated car wash at 520 South Victory Boulevard in Burbank, where the male suspect challenged the victim to a fight before punching him several times in the face, said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

The suspect, who has not been identified, then left and came back with a baseball bat, which he reportedly used to strike the victim several more times.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene for moderate injuries to his face and upper body, Losacco said. He told police he did not know the suspect.

The suspect — described as white, roughly 40 years old, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds — fled in a red Chevrolet Camaro.
